Internal Medicine

Internal medicine is wide in scope, including the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases such as thyroid disease and major organ malfunctions with liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, lungs, and the gastrointestinal tract. Accurate diagnosis of unknown diseases always starts with a complete patient history and a thorough physical examination. Based on the exam results, further diagnostics may include a laboratory exam, blood workup, x-rays, and fecal and urine testing.

Preventative medicine is crucial for your pet’s longevity and quality of life. Age appropriate blood work, heartworm testing, fecal analysis, and annual or semiannual exams help diagnose early disease onset, which that improves treatment outcomes.
